Donation and Membership

What membership means and how you can participate.

There are many ways to contribute and become a member of the City of Grosse Pointe Foundation. An annual membership will support Foundation projects that our Trustees develop and implement. We rely solely on community support to fund the projects which enhance and beautify our city.

Financial Contribution

For a tax deductible donation of $25 or more, you can be recognized as a Member of the City of Grosse Pointe Foundation on our Website. Please click here (opens new window) to view a list of last year’s donors and our levels of recognition. Your donations compile each year in order to earn a personalized brick at Neff Park once you have contributed $300. More information on the brick program can be found here.

Park Benches, Trees & More

There are many opportunities for recognition through the donation of trees, rocking chairs and benches at Neff Park, financial aid for the Christmas tree in the Village and more. We are able to assist with developing a special way to remember a loved one through a special donation like this. Please contact us if you would like more information.

Estate Planning

Consider the Foundation in your estate planning. Gifts can include securities or Real Estate that can be earmarked for a special purpose or for planned Foundation projects. In many cases, if planned in advance, a donor may receive favorable tax benefits. Please contact us to request more information on these possibilities.

Brick Recognition at Neff Park

For every $300 of cumulative donations, you will receive a brick recognition form to fill out. The brick recognition program will allow you to have a brick(s), up to 16 per family, located along the Neff Park walkways which include engraving for a family member or friend that you wish to recognize. Click on BRICK PROGRAM to see more information, order forms, maps of existing brick locations and contact information for this program.

Brick Pillars at Elworthy Field

Our Foundation provided the ornamental fence and brick pillars that surround Elworthy Field. Funds generated from Family Donations of $3,000 – $3,750 have allowed donors to recognize someone on a bronze plaque that adorns the donated pillars. Proceeds from these donors have helped pay for the pillars, decorative fence and recently the replacement of the backstop for the 90 ft. hardball diamond near the tennis courts. There are still opportunities at Elworthy for recognition. If you would like more information on this opportunity, please contact us.
